International Shipping Guide

1. Scope of Services

We ship globally from MyElectric.in — to Asia, Middle East, Europe, Africa, Americas.
We support both air freight (for lighter/high-value goods) and sea freight (for heavy/bulk shipments).
We provide export documentation such as Commercial Invoice, Packing List, HS Codes, Certificate of Origin (on request), and ensure export-grade packaging.

2. What “De Minimis” Means

  • The de minimis threshold is the value below which imported goods may be exempt from customs duties and/or taxes in the destination country.
  • If your shipment’s declared value is below the threshold, import duties may be waived (though VAT/GST may still apply).
  • If above the threshold, duties and/or taxes are more likely.
  • Thresholds vary widely by country and are subject to change — always check current local rules.

3. De Minimis Thresholds by Country

Below is a sample table of common destinations and their de minimis thresholds for duties/taxes.

4. How the Export Process Works

  • Customer places order on MyElectric.in with international shipping address.
  • We pack items using export-grade materials (pallets, crates, ISPM-15 where required).
  • We prepare documentation: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, HS Codes, etc.
  • We hand over to courier/freight forwarder. Tracking link is provided.
  • At destination country: customs clearance. If value > de minimis threshold, duties/taxes may apply.
  • Duties/taxes are typically paid by the importer (customer) unless terms specify otherwise (e.g., DDP).
  • Final delivery to customer.

5. Important Export / Import Considerations

  • Some electrical goods (switchgear, cables, lighting) may require safety certifications in destination markets; check regulations.
  • HS Code accuracy critical for correct duty/tax classification.
  • Heavy-bulk shipments incur special handling, crate packaging, and freight charges.
  • For B2B/commercial shipments, terms such as Incoterms (FOB, CIF, DDP) should be clarified.
  • De minimis thresholds are for duties/taxes — some countries still collect VAT/GST even if duties are exempt. forward2me.com

6. Tips for Your Customers

  • Always check local customs and duties before purchasing internationally.
  • Consider shipping value and destination threshold: smaller value may help avoid certain duties, but you must declare honestly.
  • For bulk orders, clearly state “Commercial use” and prepare for duties/taxes beyond threshold.
  • Save documents: invoice, packing list, HS code — helpful for clearance/resolution.
  • For export shipments from India: ensure proper packaging, correct labeling, and clear documentation to avoid delays.

7. Disclaimer

  • The de minimis values and rules shown above are indicative only. Customs authorities regularly change thresholds, valuation methods, and processing rules.
  • Your shipment may still be subject to duties or taxes even if below the threshold — e.g., restricted items, special goods, or combined shipments.
  • We recommend you consult your local customs or an international freight specialist prior to placing your order.
