What is an RCCB?
An RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker) detects even small leakage currents to earth and trips instantly — protecting people from fatal electric shocks. Key selection parameters:
- Current Rating (A): The maximum load current — 25A, 40A, 63A, 80A, 100A.
- Sensitivity (mA): 30 mA for personal protection; 100 mA or 300 mA for fire protection or selective coordination.
- Poles: 2P for single-phase; 4P for three-phase + neutral systems.
- Type AC: Detects sinusoidal AC leakage — suitable for most residential loads. Type A also detects pulsating DC leakage — required for inverter ACs and VFD-fed equipment.
